BUSINESS <br />1. Planning Department staff will demonstrate Geographic Information System (GIS) data <br />layers pertinent to Open Space Network planning. Presentation will include new FEMA <br />flood map data. Action Committee members may discuss applicability of this data for <br />Open Space Network planning and make recommendations and requests to the Planning <br />Department regarding such planning. <br />2. Presentation by Lele Kimball regarding GIS layers. Ms. Kimball will further discuss the <br />use of GIS layers for open space network planning based upon her graduate research in <br />Urban and Community Forestry at Virginia Tech University. Her presentation will focus <br />upon integrating geospatial decision support technologies for planners and policy makers <br />to inform the design of functional and sustainable open space networks. <br />3. Open Space, Open Space Network Objectives, Formation of Investigatory <br />Subcommittee. The Action Committee will review CDP Objectives, priorities and <br />proposed actions relating to Open Space and an Open Space Network; consider setting <br />short term Action Committee Objectives and/or establishing a new investigatory <br />subcommittee to address these objectives and any closely related issues as deemed <br />appropriate by the Action Committee. <br />4. CIP Budget Overview and Action Committee Recommendation Strategy Discussion. <br />(Communication No. 2017-1) The Action Committee will discuss and plan for making <br />recommendations for the County's Capital Improvement Program/Budget for the next <br />(2018/2019) fiscal year and may include formation of a CIP Budget Subcommittee. <br />5. Social Media Outreach Feasibility Report. The Planning Department staff will provide <br />the Action Committee members a report on the various implications and restrictions <br />relating to the use of social media as a method to increase community awareness and <br />engagement with the Action Committee. <br />REPORTS and OTHER PRESENTATIONS: <br />6. Planning Department staff will review and discuss the Kona CDP Action Committee's <br />Operating Guidelines and the Group Agreement as they impact the efficiency of Action <br />Committee meetings. <br />7. Subcommittee reports. Action Committee members may propose discussion items <br />contained in such reports for placement on the next meeting agenda. <br />ANNOUNCEMENTS <br />8.
