Committee member Kimura moved to approve the minutes of the June 21, 2017 meeting as <br />submitted. Second by Vice Chair Young. Minutes of the July 19, 2017 AC Meeting. <br />Committee member Kimura moved to approve the minutes of the July 19, 2017 meeting as <br />submitted. Second by Committee member Payne. <br />Committee member Palma-Glennie suggested changing the word "pesticide" to <br />"herbicide" on item number 1 under "Agenda for the Next Meeting" of the July 19th <br />minutes in reference to Roundup spray. <br />Committee member Payne moved to accept the above stated amendment to the July 19' <br />minutes. Second by Committee member Kimura. The motion passed unanimously. <br />Chair DeFranco suggested inclusion of a motion made to create a subcommittee to <br />investigate the use of Roundup on roadways which failed for lack of a second during the <br />July 191h meeting. <br />Committee member Payne moved to accept the above stated amendment to the July 19' <br />minutes. Second by Committee member Kimura. The motion passed unanimously. <br />Chair DeFranco called for any last revisions to the minutes before approval. A vote was taken to <br />approve the July 1911 minutes as amended in the discussion. Planning Department staff will demonstrate Geographic Information System (GIS) data <br />layers pertinent to Open Space Network Planning. <br />Via conference call with video projection from his remote location, Staff Dixon presented and <br />demonstrated the use of graphic layers of data available via GIS software for conceptualizing and <br />planning a Kona Open Space Network. <br />The mapping layers included: boundary lines for the Kona CDP area; TMK parcels; FEMA flood <br />zones; mauka watershed planning area; county, national and state parks; conservation land; <br />natural/forest reserves; sanctuaries; and game management areas.
