Senior Training & Employment Program <br />Mark Kunzer, Program Director (808) 961-8750 <br /> <br />HERE'S THE <br />NEWS <br />SENIORS IN TRAINING <br /> <br />In June, 13 of our participants attended a 4 day Job Readiness training program at <br />Hawai‘i Community College instructed by Janet Carpenter. The training included how <br />to search for jobs, organizing your information, resume preparation, and interviewing, <br />which included mock interviews. All of the participants gained valuable knowledge in <br />preparing for the current job market. <br /> <br />STEP Enrollee, Mr. Thomas Henneman is currently training as a Janitorial & Ground Maintenance <br />Aide at County of Hawai‘i, Parks and Recreation. <br /> <br />STEP Enrollee, Mr. Thomas Dela Cruz is currently training as a Groundskeeping Aide at County of <br />Hawai‘i, Pana‘ewa Rainforest Zoo. <br /> <br />The Senior Training & Employment Program (STEP) assists eligible, unemployed, low-income job seekers <br />age 55 and over in getting temporary but current work experience. <br /> <br />STEP helps Seniors receive training to allow them to return to the workforce at large.
