Comm. No. 2017-15 <br />4- Kaiholena <br />• o Malama Kohala Kahakai in conjunction with Kohala Lihikai has submitted an <br />application for management funds from PONC. It will be reviewed by PONC next <br />week. <br />o The County's Cultural Resources Commission is in the process of reviewing <br />Archaeological Preservation Plans that were required as a permit condition for the <br />approval of developments. They started with Preservation Plans approved for County <br />lands. The Preservation Plan for Kaiholena was completed before the County and ATA <br />acquired the six parcels. The Commission decided to start with Preservation Plans <br />associated with public -owned lands. So they started with Kaiholena. The Commission <br />plans to review Preservation Plans at private developments as well. <br />❖ Kohala Shoreline LLC <br />o NSTR - Need update from county planning department. <br />❖ Kohala Kai <br />o Talks between the County and Ala Kahakai about the conservation easement have <br />finally come to the front burner. <br />o Need update from county planning department. <br />❖ Kohala Waterfront <br />o NSTR - Need update from county planning department. <br />❖ Rails to Trails <br />o Kohala Lihikai won a year-long assistance through the Rivers, Trails, Conservation <br />Assistance Program of the National Parks Service. <br />o Meredith Speicer will be helping with Kohala's comprehensive coastal trail system, <br />help us communicate better with county and state agencies, and update and upgrade our <br />coastal lands data system and map.
