Vice Chair Bennett said there was nothing DEM could do and that the next time they
have a quorum, he will be schooling the commissioners on common courtesy. If Commissioner
Vidgen could not attend today, he should have called all the commissioners. The chair should
not be responsible for doing that. He will be introducing a policy that if someone is going to opt
out after opting in, they have an obligation to inform the other commissioners in a timely
manner. He had gotten up early in the morning and drove two and a half hours to get here.
Commissioner Olson said the bottom line is they need more commissioners.
Question from a member of the public: A woman asked what positions needed filling,
and Ms. Noda said that Districts 2 and 3 are unfilled, and holdovers whose terms end soon are in
Districts 7 and 8. They can be held over 90 days, until the March meeting.
Chair Fritz thanked everyone for attending.
11:54 a.m.: The meeting ended.
Submitted by:
Mary E. ujio
Acting secretary
19
