Application No. T17-16 <br />RCSH Operations, Inc., dba Ruth's Chris Steak House, for a sale and <br />transfer of the Restaurant General liquor license, Category B1, currently <br />held by Lava Coast Steak House, LLC, dba Ruth's Chris Steak House, <br />located at The Shops at Mauna Lani, 68-1330 Mauna Lani Drive, <br />Building E, Suite 121, Kohala Coast, Hawaii, TMK: 6-8-022:002. <br />Chu: Good morning, Chairman Takaba, members of the Commission. Newton Chu on <br />behalf of the transferee today. I'm also the authorized agent on behalf of the transferee. <br />We also have no changes to the report. <br />Takaba: Can you describe this business? <br />Chu: Yes. Ruth's Chris Steak House is a very famous national chain that has been <br />operating throughout the State of Hawaii. We have six restaurants throughout the <br />State of Hawaii. Two on Oahu, two on Maui, one on Kauai that recently opened, and of <br />course the Mauna Lani operations. For the past nine years on this island, the <br />restaurant has been operated by a franchise; operated by Randy Schoch who's a very <br />famous restaurateur in Hawaii. One of the other venues is the Macaroni Grill here in <br />Waikoloa. Recently, there was a public announcement that the franchisor, Ruth's <br />Hospitality Group out of Orlando, Florida has entered into an agreement to purchase the <br />six franchised Ruth's Chris restaurants in the State of Hawaii, of which the Lava Coast <br />Steak House is one of them. So that transaction is still pending. The application to <br />change the license is before you. We anticipate that there'll be no changes to the <br />restaurant or its operations or its employees. So the transfer will be fairly transparent <br />and with no adverse affect on employment or management here. <br />Takaba: Thank you.
