North Kohala Community Access Group February 7, 2018 (Old State Judiciary Building 4:30pm) Participants: David Tarnas, Keith Wallis, Toni Withington, Carter Collins, Beth Robinson, Teri Takata, Jack Hoyt, Aric Arakaki, Leana Gloor, Eric Cook, Ted Matsuda, Joe Carvalho. ❖ Pololu Lookout o Surety Kohala Corporation is applying for consolidation & re -subdivision on their property by Pololu (proposed parking lot for lookout on Mauka of the road). ■ We have not heard a response. ❖ Niulii o Will check with Cheryl Lupenui (CEO) of Kohala Center if she would like to attend one of our meetings to address any concerns. ❖ Hapu'u — Kapanaia o Charlie Anderson's property (Half O' Kaiili) is in escrow and has not closed with the PONC purchase. ■ Association owners will have to sign off on the secondary access through the subdivision. ■ When released from escrow it will be sent to the county council for approval. o PONC will ask Legacy Land Preservation Commission for matching funds for the purchase of Kapanaia Bay (Pacific Plains) on their application in July. ■ We'll know by December 2018. •'• Halelua • o NSTR - Need update from county planning department on GOE. ■ We should update our GOE database and sent it to the planning department. •'• Pahoa Beach • o NSTR - Need update from county planning department ❖ Upolu Airport East o NSTR - Need update from county planning department. ❖ Upolu Airport Restoration o NSTR. •'• Honoipu • o This land is in escrow. ■ We are still going to pursue funding for the public purchase or land exchange with the county. • Honoipu will be part of the PONC nominations which are due at the end of February. ❖ Pali A' Kamoa o State Na Ala Hele closed the trail in 2006 because of erosion from the earthquake. ■ Na Ala Hele asked the Legislature for CIP funds to restore this trail. •'• Kukuipahu • o NSTR Page 1 1
