Reviews and evaluates Categorical listing of Professionals "Statement of Qualifications and <br /> Expressions of Interest-. <br /> August 1997 to August 2000: Position: Civil Engineer III <br /> County of Hawaii Department of Public Works — Hilo, HI <br /> Duties: <br /> 1. Reviews and processes subdivision and other related applications and studies for the <br /> Department of Public Works. <br /> 2. Investigates and responds to applicable cisil engineering related complaints/concerns from <br /> the general public. <br /> 3. Supervises construction and inspectional activities, including reviewing shop drawings and <br /> material tests, interpreting plans and specifications. making changes and corrections, keeping <br /> construction records such as the amount of work done. materials used and verification of <br /> payments. as well as the processing of necessary County. State and Federal documentation <br /> during and after construction. <br /> 4. Conducts preliminary engineering investigations fbr project development, including <br /> feasibility, economic, and environmental studies; and prepare appropriate assessments. <br /> recommendations and reports. <br /> 5. Conducts and/or assists in the review of subdivision and other privately generated <br /> construction plans, including drainage plans and calculations for compliance with applicable <br /> regulations, Public Works requirements, standards, specifications and policies. <br /> 6. Directs preliminary and final surveys for engineering projects. <br /> 7. Designs and/or assists in the design of retaining walls. culverts, catch basins, highways and <br /> other civil engineering improvements, including site plans and construction plans. Work <br /> includes establishing and computing horizontal and vertical alignments: hydrological. <br /> hydraulic calculations for the design of drainage systems and other related civil engineering <br /> computations. <br /> 8. Prepares and process final plans. specifications, cost estimates and other related County. <br /> State and Federal documentation, as well as bidding. awarding and closing of construction <br /> contracts. <br /> 9. Review and process building and other permits assigned to the Division. <br /> 10.
