The Commission took this item up at 9:02 a.m. with 3 people from the public in attendance. <br />(SEE EXHIBIT A) <br />This item ended at 9:36 a.m. <br />MINUTES — The Commission took this item up at 9:36 a.m. <br />Approval of Minutes of the February 1, 2018 Windward Planning Commission Meeting — It was <br />moved by Commissioner Miyasato, and seconded by Commissioner Dela Cruz, that the Minutes <br />of February 1, 2018, be approved as circulated. Motion was unanimously carried by a voice vote <br />of all Commissioners in attendance. <br />ADMINISTRATIVE MATTERS/ANNOUNCEMENTS - The Commission took this item up <br />at 9:37 a.m. <br />Review and discussion of recent Special Management Area (SMA) determinations and minor <br />permits issued by the Planning Director. <br />Mr. Darrow welcomed Commissioner Aguinaldo to the Commission and thanked Commissioner <br />Miyasato for his service on the Commission. <br />Mr. Darrow gave the Commission the monthly update for the SMA Assessment applications and <br />briefly discussed one of the SMA exempt applications with Chair Clarkson [SAA 1566] that was <br />valued at $4,400,000 but under the 7,500 square -foot threshold. Mr. Darrow confirmed that the <br />Department was not limited by cost but by square footage. <br />Commissioner Miyasato thanked the Commission and staff and expressed his appreciation <br />serving on the Commission and those that he worked with. <br />Mr. Darrow informed the Commission that the April meeting may be heavy and stated that the <br />Hu Honua remand [Amendment to SMA 221 ] and request for declaratory ruling will be on the <br />agenda. <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />Windward Planning Commission <br />March 1, 2018 Minutes <br />
