Hawaii Game Management Advisory Commission Meeting <br />Minutes – January 29, 2018 <br />TL: OK. All in favor? <br /> <br />WJC: Aye. \[The ayes have it\] <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />Election of Officers for 2018 <br /> <br />TL: We are having an election of officers this evening, which I was made aware of <br />after I saw the agenda. <br /> <br />WJC: Is that something that needs to be done today? <br /> <br />MH: Well, it’s supposed to be done annually I don’t know when the last time you <br />guys did it was? <br /> <br />WJC: I guess my, my concern is maybe let’s defer and hope that we have some <br />new commissioners hopefully gonna come in, in the next month that maybe <br />they would be better, you know, being that Ike and myself are kinda out it <br />might be fair for them, why don’t you defer it till March. <br /> <br />MH: I think we can do that, I would advise that you wouldn’t want a new member <br />chairing, though. If you want them to be able to vote then that’s fine... <br /> <br /> But usually when new members come in they go with whatever the existing <br />members put in place, but, I mean, if you guys feel that strongly about it and <br />you guys want to wait till March... <br /> <br />MH: We can, you guys can defer that to next meeting. <br /> <br />WJC: I wouldn’t expect anybody just coming in to want to be thrown into that pot. <br /> <br />MH: Yeah, I guess, if there’s a motion from a member that is actually going to – is <br />still on the commission after March now, then... <br /> <br />TL: OK. So there’s a motion on the floor, is there? <br /> <br />MH: No, there’s no motion, but it should come from someone’s who’s not <br />expiring in March. <br /> <br />NP: I’d like to make a motion to defer elections until March. <br /> <br />TN: This is Teresa, I second. <br /> <br />TL: OK.
