Donations <br />• Anyone wishing to make donations for those affected by the eruption please contact the Salvation Army at (808) 756-0306 <br />Assistance & Information Center: Pahoa Community Center <br />• 15-3022 Kauhale Street, Pāhoa, HI 96778 <br />• Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 3:00pm <br />• Besides providing information about the eruption, the center will offer social service information for the evacuees from the Leilani Estates and Lanipuna Gardens subdivisions. <br />Evacuation Shelters <br />Animal friendly, hosted by The American Red Cross and the Department of Parks and Recreation <br />• Pahoa Community Center: 15-3022 Kauhale Street, Pāhoa, HI 96778 <br />• Kea’au Community Center: 16-186 Pili Mua St, Keaau, HI 96749 <br /> <br />TOXIC GAS EXPOSURE POLICY <br /> <br />Color Code Health Effect <br /> <br />BLUE <br />Health Effect <br />· Highly sensitive individuals may be affected at lower concentrations <br />· Little or no risk to healthy individuals <br /> <br />Response <br />· Sensitive individuals should take actions to avoid exposure <br />· Non-effected individuals should always be on alert for changing conditions <br /> <br />ORANGE <br />Health Effect <br />· Sensitive individuals with respiratory problems may experience health effects and should take precautions to include leaving the area. <br />· The general public may experience minor respiratory issues and should be on the alert while minimizing exposure <br /> <br />Response <br />· Avoid outdoor activities that cause heavy breathing or breathing through the mouth <br />· Minimize all physical activities <br />· Take actions to limit exposure by leaving area or going indoors <br /> <br />RED <br />Health Effect <br />· Severe conditions may exist such as chocking, inability to breathe that affects entire exposed population <br />· Immediate Danger to Health <br /> <br />Response <br />· Take actions necessary to limit further exposure (Leave Area and Remain Indoors) <br />· Prepare for possible Evacuation <br />· Seek medical attention if severely affected
