Page 13
MR. MORIMOTO: Madam Chair, if I may ask, can
we not go into executive session to discuss those
salary amounts and inversions, instead of going to
another meeting, is that appropriate at this time?
J.
MS . SCHOEN: Well, you know, the commission is
always -- always can go into executive session if you
want any type of legal voice related to powers,
duties, privileges, or responsibilities under the
charter.
How I 'm looking at the agenda today is that
there ' s a piece on there for you to look at -- what I
think is proposals for adjustment to current salaries
of all executives and all elected officials .
Mr. Ono mentioned a possible inversion as it
related -- as it was related in the communication from
the police commission, so that is -- I look at as a
j
separate, a second piece . So I think the first thing
you should look at is whether or not you should review
all of the elective -- executive and elected
officials ' salaries, and then including police, and
then whether or not there is any type of inversion
within those positions .
So one thing you could do is -- I ' ll have
discussion on it today, maybe review numbers that were
provided by the department, and then at your next
ISLAND COURT REPORTING & TRANSCRIPTION SERVICES
(808) 933-9800
