At <br />8 my last position, the fire chief reported to me, or the <br />9 fire department did, and so -- Lawrence Livermore <br />10 Laboratory was radioactive materials plus all of the <br />11 wildfire support. It was a complex operation, so I <br />12 really understand the abilities and experience that are <br />13 necessary for someone to lead a department like you <br />14 have -- like we have as a County; so I really support <br />15 what you have said here. <br />16 MR. BECKER: Quite literally, there's a <br />17 assistant chief position open right now; if the chief <br />18 quit his chief position and took the assistant chief <br />19 position, he'd get a raise. And that's two steps below <br />20 him. <br />21 CHR. ONO: Yeah, we have that same <br />22 situation in many of the departments, as I understand. <br />23 MR. CAMPBELL: Yes. <br />24 CHR.
