Page 42
MS. SAKAMOTO: The government doesn't provide
bonuses.
MR. CAMPBELL: So, we heard earlier from the
fire department comparison against mainland fire
departments, and I noticed this survey just includes
Hawaii for the most part. And so, is there any
consideration -- or do you look at some of the surveys
that are done on the mainland for government
organizations, in particular, for police and fire?
MR. BRILHANTE: I think the answer to your
question is two-part. First, this information captured
in this report, which is inclusive of Hawaii, 189
businesses within Hawaii.
MR. CAMPBELL: Right.
MR. BRILHANTE: As it relates to police and
fire, unfortunately, there's no private sector police
and fire that we can really realistically look at to
compare the County police and fire to; so that's why,
you know, within the state of Hawaii, it's hard to
find, you know, private industry comparisons for police
and fire.
MR. CAMPBELL: I understand that. So, the
question is have you -- or is it possible to consider
government police and fire from the mainland as
compared to Hawaii?
ISLAND COURT REPORTING & TRANSCRIPTION SERVICES
(808) 933-9800
