Page 7 <br />1 You going to spend a lot of money on these people, <br />2 and they going leave. That's the practical benefit of the <br />3 financial part for the community. You pay them what they're <br />4 worth, they'll stay. You don't pay them what they're worth, <br />5 you get what you pay for. You know that adage. And that's <br />6 all I like to say. Because I know Ricky Roy picked up a lot <br />7 of statistics, but I just speaking from the heart. I'm <br />8 asking you for them. I'll be gone on Thursday, you know, and <br />9 I might be on the other side of the -- using all the <br />10 thousands of dollars against you guys. You know, that's an <br />11 option I got because I can be in private practice to make up <br />12 for my lack of pension. <br />13 But the thing is you got to pay these guys. Think <br />14 about it. These guys paid, and they got to be paid more than <br />15 one sergeant, the guys that been there for twenty years. You <br />16 know, that's ridiculous. And since I -- I can say this <br />17 because I'm going to be retired, so I don't have to affect <br />18 how my office going to feel towards my -- it's Jack Matsukawa <br />19 retiring is practically speaking saying to you guys. It's a <br />20 practical thing. <br />21 Again, you get what you pay for, you know. And you <br />22 want to keep good quality people, you want them to stay, pay <br />23 them. That's all.
