And so with that, open for discussion. <br />5 MR. PAVAO: Yeah, Mr. Chairman, when I was <br />6 reviewing this, you know, I know that the intent was to <br />7 put it between Maui and Oahu. And I was reviewing <br />8 this. There's not a consistent percentage. Like, for <br />9 example, the mayor. The percentage of (inaudible) <br />10 <br />is not <br />consistent with, say, for <br />example, the <br />County <br />11 <br />clerk <br />or -- how did these figures <br />come about? <br />I think <br />12 before we decide on accepting or not accepting these <br />13 figures, I for one would really like to see how the <br />14 math came about to arrive at these figures. <br />15 CHR. ONO: As best as I can recall, I <br />16 don't recall any formula being applied for the mayor or <br />17 the County council members. We just looked at the <br />18 spread in the numbers and we picked a number. But as <br />19 for the rest of them, I believe -- it's been a while, <br />20 but I believe it might be 5 percent above the <br />21 next -highest subordinate that reports to them. <br />22 Like in the case of -- let me pick -- in the <br />23 case of Research and Development, they have an EM -level <br />24 position reporting to that level, and if I'm not <br />25 mistaken, it's 5 percent above that.
