CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chair Bennett called the meeting to order and expressed, on behalf of the Commission, <br />compassion and sympathy for their friends in Puna who are undergoing the tragedy of the current <br />volcano eruption and loss of homes due to lava. <br /> <br />2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF APRIL 25, 2018 <br /> <br /> Commissioner Gaffney said several corrections were needed in the section where he <br />introduced himself: <br /> <br />- Where it says, “He now has concerns about Honokōhau Harbor,” it should say that <br />his concerns are about the ocean adjacent to Honokōhau Harbor. <br /> <br />- In the same sentence, where it says “categorized as AA water,” it should say <br />“categorized as class AA.” <br /> <br />- Where it says he has “an oceanography fellowship from the University of Rhode <br />Island,” it should say “he won a fellowship from the University of Rhode Island <br />Graduate School of Oceanography.” <br /> <br /> He also said that on page 4, “Mahu Kona” should be one word. <br /> <br /> Vice Chair Olson pointed out that by way of protocol, someone needed to move to <br />approve the minutes prior to discussing what changes needed to be made.
