t <br />CHARTER AMENDMENT NO. 5 <br />90 DAY HOLD OVER FOR <br />MEMBERS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br />BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: <br />Section 1. Section 13-4 of the Hawaii County Charter is amended by amending <br />subsection (d) to read as follows: <br />"(d) No member whose term has expired shall continue to serve on such board <br />or commission, except that if [the member's term expires less that one month after the <br />commencement of the term of a new mayor, the member shall hold over for thirty (30) <br />days,] no successor has been appointed and confirmed, the member shall continue to <br />serve for ninety (90) days or until a successor is appointed and confirmed, whichever <br />comes first." <br />Section 2. Charter material to be repealed is bracketed. New charter material is <br />underscored. <br />Section 3.
