CHARTER AMENDMENT NO. 15 <br />CODE OF ETHICS <br />BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: <br />Section 1. Section 14-1 of the Hawaii County Charter is amended to read as follows: <br />" Section 14-1. Enactment[.] and Policy. <br />"Q The council shall adopt by ordinance a code of ethics which shall provide <br />as a minimum standard the provisions of this article. More stringent provisions may be <br />enacted. <br />"(b) Elected and appointed officers and employees shall demonstrate the <br />highest standard of ethical conduct so that the public may have trust and confidence in the <br />integrity of the government." <br />Section 2. Charter material to be repealed is bracketed. New charter material is <br />underscored. <br />Section 3. This amendment shall take effect upon its approval by the voters. <br />FINAL\ETHICS <br />
