The dynamics at the <br />City Council of Honolulu is really quite extraordinary because you’ll find different <br />people joining up with unlikely allies to take on this venture or that venture. I <br /> <br />think it’s very healthy. <br />SANTANGELO: I find that interesting. On the council, I felt like once elected, you <br />served every man, woman and child, regardless whether they voted or not, and my <br /> <br />record shows that I supported issues Green, Democratic and Republican. <br /> <br />FELIX: That transcend partisan politics. <br />SANTANGELO: And I worked well with my colleague. I find that if I was to work on the <br />legislative side, very definitely would I be partisan, but the county is not <br />philosophical in that way. We’re not dealing with the kind of issues that are out <br /> <br />there and I’m glad to hear you say that. <br />FELIX: You articulated that far better than either one of us could. That’s right on <br /> <br />target. <br /> <br />SANTANGELO: Well thank you and I do thank you for being here. <br />RAY: Other questions in regard to the nonpartisan. Okay. The issue of Neighborhood <br /> <br />Boards has surfaced. That’s not anything that - <br /> <br />ARAKAWA: May we leave now? <br />RAY: So is that the pleasure of this group? You’d like to explore that? It’s not <br /> <br />anything we - <br />HERKES: I’d like to explore while we have somebody that works under Neighborhood <br /> <br />Boards. <br />HIGASHI: Before we proceed, it’s not an agendized item. Are we violating the <br /> <br />Sunshine Law? <br />YUEN: It would be better if it had been on the agenda but I assume the Commission is <br />not going to vote on it. Why don’t you just go ahead and ask a few questions and <br /> <br />then the gentlemen can go. <br />HIGASHI: Then I think we should agendize it for another meeting so that if people <br /> <br />have some opinions, they can talk about it. <br /> <br />FELIX: We’d love to come back. <br /> <br />HIGASHI: I mean even if we discuss it today, Mr. Chairman. <br /> <br />RAY: Okay.
