<br />FIRST READING OF THE FOLLOWING CHARTER AMENDMENTS:
<br />CA -1 DEPARTMENT OF WATER SUPPLY
<br />Amends Article VIII, Department of Water Supply, Sections 8 -1 through 8 -3, Hawaii
<br />County Charter. Replaces all references to "manager" with "manager -chief engineer."
<br />Additionally replaces "chief engineer" with "director of public works" in Section 8 -2.

<br />From Commission Attorney, Levi Hookano, dated August 4, 2009, discussing the
<br />legality of CA -1.
<br />CA -2 DATA SYSTEMS
<br />Moves Chapter 2, Data Systems, from Article V, Executive Branch -The Mayor and
<br />Staff Agencies, to Article VI, Executive Branch -The Managing Director and Agencies
<br />Under the Managing Director, Hawaii County Charter, and appropriately renumbers
<br />all affected sections.

<br />Charter, and appropriately renumbers all affected sections.
