HAWAII COUNTY CHARTER COMMISSION <br /> MINUTES <br /> 5th Session <br /> February 6, 1979 <br /> Hilo, Hawaii <br /> The fifth session of the Hawaii County Charter Commission <br /> was called to order at 3: 38 p.m. in the Hawaii County Councilroom, <br /> Hawaii County Building, Hilo, Hawaii, by Mr. Kimiaka Sakata, <br /> Chairman. <br /> The roll recorded the following: <br /> Present: Mr. Harlan Cadinha <br /> Mr. Richard Ishida <br /> Mrs. Amy Iwamoto <br /> Mrs. Gloria Kobayashi <br /> Mr. Akira Omonaka <br /> Mr. Kimiaki Sakata <br /> Mr. Spencer Kalani Schutte <br /> Mr. Herman Sensano <br /> Mr. Joseph Trulson <br /> Mr. Basilio Yagong <br /> Mr. Matsuo Yanaga <br /> Recording Secretary, J. Carnett <br /> APPROVAL OF It was moved, seconded and carried that the <br /> MINUTES: minutes for the 3rd Session, dated January <br /> 23 , 1979 be approved. <br /> It was moved , seconded and carried that the <br /> minutes for the 2nd Session, dated January <br /> 16, 1979 and for the 4th Session, dated <br /> January 30 , 1979 be deferred until the next <br /> session. <br /> DEPARTMENTAL It was moved, seconded and carried that the <br /> TESTIMONY: Rules be suspended and Departmental testi- <br /> mony be accepted. <br /> RESEARCH AND Inti-oduction was made of Mr. Clarence Garcia, <br /> DEVELOPMENT: Director who presented the Commission with <br /> his p-repa'red' statement. <br /> MR. GARCIA: Mr. Chairman, members of the <br /> Commission, My name is Clarence Garcia and I am the Director <br /> of the Department of Research and Development. <br />
