1 <br /> HAWAII COUNTY CHARTER COMMISSION <br /> MINUTES <br /> 24th Session <br /> June 26, 1979 <br /> Hilo, Hawaii <br /> The twenty-fourth session of the Hawaii County Charter <br /> Commission was called to order at 2 : 45 p.m. in the Hawaii <br /> County Councilroom, Hawaii County Building, Hilo, Hawaii by <br /> Mr. Kimiaki Sakata, Chairman. <br /> The roll recorded the following: <br /> Present : Mr. Harlan Cadinha <br /> Mr. Richard Ishida <br /> Mrs. Amy Iwamoto <br /> Mrs . Gloria Kobayashi <br /> Mr. Akira Omonaka <br /> Mr. Kimiaki Sakata <br /> Mr. Spencer Kalani Schutte <br /> Mr. Herman Sensano <br /> Mr. Joseph Trulson <br /> Mr. Basilio Yagong <br /> Mr. Matsuo Yanaga <br /> Also Mr. Stuart Oda, Attorney <br /> Present: Ms. Frances Higa, Research Assistant <br /> Mrs. Joan Carnett, Secretary <br /> APPROVAL The Chair called for approval of minutes dated <br /> OF MINUTES: June 12 , 1979. <br /> Mrs. Kobayashi made the motion , <br /> to approve the minutes as <br /> presented. Seconded by Mr. Yagong <br /> and unanimously carried. <br /> CHAIRMAN SAKATA: Before we go into the business <br /> of the day, I would like to call on our legal counsel . Mr. Oda. <br /> MR. ODA: Mr. Chairman. You have before you <br /> several--two separate packets of drafts that were prepared by <br /> myself and my aide. First of all , I would refer you to the <br /> first packet that Vas passed out with regard to the organization <br /> of the council . Just to give you an overview of what is in the <br /> packet, the first one has to do with the hiring of legal counsel <br /> for the county council , the new numbers being Section 3-8. The <br /> second one should be in the order in which I am reading it. <br />
