Call for the question. The intent of this motion <br /> is that another option be placed on the ballot which would <br /> have five district councilmen elected for 2-year terms and <br /> four councilmen will be elected at-large for 4-year terms. <br /> MR. SENSANO: Mr. Chairman. Before you call for <br /> a vote on the motion, I 'd like to read what Chairman Yamashiro <br /> said in his statement. "I do not feel that it is. . . ( I 'm readng <br /> on page number. . .the second to last page,..beginning the last <br /> sentence which starts--I 'm starting on this page) . . . "I do not <br /> feel that it is appropriate that the Charter Commission <br /> abdicate this decision making prerogative by yielding to <br /> choices on the ballot. " <br /> MR. CADINHA: In response, Mr. Chairman. <br /> CHAIRMAN SCHUTTE: Mr. Cadinha. <br /> MR. CADINHA: This commission already has abdicated <br /> and p'a'rtial abdication is probably even worse.
