PROPOSED VERBIAGE <br />DEPARTMENT OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY <br />Section 6-4.1. Organization. <br />There shall be a department of information technology consisting of the director of <br />information technology and necessary staff. <br />(2010, Prop. 9, secs. 2 and 3.) <br />Section 6-4.2. Appointment and Removal. <br />The director of information technology shall be appointed by the mayor, confirmed <br />by the council and may be removed by the mayor. <br />(2010, Prop. 9, secs. 2 and 3.) <br />Section 6-4.3. Qualifications. <br />The director of information technology shall have had a minimum of five years of <br />experience in the field of information technology, communications networking, <br />and development, implementation and operation of enterprise -oriented <br />applications, at least three years of which shall have been in an administrative and <br />managerial capacity in a technology environment at least comparable to that of <br />the county's system. <br />(2010, Prop. 9, secs. 2 and 3.) <br />Section 6-4.4. Powers, Duties and Functions. <br />The director of information technology shall: <br />(a) Operate the network system, and coordinate and oversee the operations of <br />departmental information technology, except for technology maintained by the <br />department of water supply. <br />(b) Provide technical expertise in information technology to applicable <br />departments and agencies of the county. <br />(c) Assist in the development of an IT Workforce and a Services -Oriented <br />Infrastructure. <br />(d) Advise the mayor on matters relating to information technology. <br />(e) Perform such other duties as may be required by law. <br />(2010, Prop. 9, secs. 2 and 3.) <br />Comm.
