Vice Chair Pratt <br />wanted to nominate Committee member De Lima <br />as Secretary. Chair Shirachi said that De Lima <br />did accept the nomination <br />Mr. Pratt made a motion to nominate Norita as <br />Secretary. All were in favor. <br />Old Business <br />a. Letter to the Mayor regarding Share Ride <br />Program <br />The Committee discussed that the possibilities <br />that the cab companies on the West side of the <br />Island desire not to participate in the Shared Ride <br />Taxi Program because they make enough money. <br />b. By -Laws Revision- Discussion for <br />Recommendations <br />Ms. Hall went over suggested amendments to the <br />By -Laws. <br />Discussion <br />Chair Shirachi suggested to have someone from <br />Regarding <br />both the Planning and Public Works department <br />Future Agenda <br />attend the Committee on People with Disabilities <br />Items <br />meeting. She believes they both have a greater <br />impact on people with disabilities because of the <br />broader scope of public obligations. <br />Announcements <br />Chair Shirachi made 2 announcements for both <br />the West Hawaii and East Hawaii Disability <br />Legislative Forums. Ms. Shirachi informed the <br />Committee that she will attend the East side event. <br />Vox Populi <br />Chair Shirachi said that she received the report <br />(Voice of the <br />from Julie Rawlings after the agenda was created. <br />People) <br />Therefore, Ms. Rawlings' report will be placed on <br />the next month's agenda. <br />Next Meeting <br />The next meeting will be at the Hawaii County <br />Office of Aging on August 15, 2018.
