C • Kailua-Kona, Hawaii 96740 <br />(808)323-4444 • Fax(808)323-4440 <br />August 01, 2018 <br />Jesus Ceja, Emergency Management Specialist <br />FEMA Region IX, Recovery Division — Individual Assistance <br />1111 Broadway, Suite 1200 <br />Oakland, CA 94607-4052 <br />Dear Mr. Ceja: <br />Pursuant to the meeting of July 11, 2018 on Individual Assistance Letters attached are two Excel <br />lists which represent: <br />1) Properties which are considered to be inaccessible due to health and safety concerns, <br />which includes the destroyed properties with updated names of all owners as well as <br />the property addresses; and <br />2) Properties which are confirmed to be destroyed (which may have outdated owner <br />names). <br />It is our understanding that these lists will be utilized instead of the "updated letter" requirement <br />by FEMA in order to continue to provide assistance. In addition, for those applicants who were <br />considered to be ineligible due to prior letters that are located within this area, those individuals <br />may reapply and ask for an inspection in order to be reconsidered. <br />The last area which is not addressed on these lists, but of concern, is the area outside of the <br />attached lists which have access, however, due to health concerns may not be livable. As <br />discussed at the meeting on July 11, 2018 the County of Hawaii will work with the State of <br />Hawaii Department of Health and Environmental Protection Agency to provide historical data <br />of the air quality in order to qualify additional properties/areas for FEMA assistance. <br />Sincerely, <br />Ha m <br />. <br />Mayor <br />Attachment <br />County of Hawaii is an Equal Opportunity Provider and Employer. <br />
