HAWAII POLICE COMMISSION <br />REGULAR SESSION MINUTES <br />JULY 20, 2018 <br />WEST HAWAII CIVIC CENTER <br />74-5044 ANE KEOHOKALOLE HWY, KAILUA-KONA, HI <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />Chair Hendricks called the meeting to order at 9:52 a.m. <br />ROLL CALL <br />Present: Peter Hendricks, Chair <br />Wayne De Luz, Vice Chair <br />Carl Carlson, Commissioner <br />Jack Hu, Commissioner <br />Paul Paiva, Commissioner <br />Colleen Pasco, Commissioner <br />Absent: Arthur Buckman, Commissioner <br />A quorum was present. <br />Also present: Paul Ferreira, Police Chief <br />Kenneth Bugado, Deputy Chief <br />Marshall Kanehailua, Assistant Chief <br />Mitchell Kanehailua, Assistant Chief <br />James O'Connor, Assistant Chief <br />Burt Shimabukuro, Captain <br />Malia Hall, Deputy Corporation Counsel <br />Josie Pelayo, Secretary <br />APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />Commissioner Paiva motioned to approve the agenda. Vice Chair De Luz seconded, and <br />it carried unanimously. <br />STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON AGENDA ITEMS (None.) <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />June 8, 2018, regular and executive sessions: Commissioner Paiva motioned to approve <br />the minutes. Commissioner Carlson seconded, and it carried unanimously. <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />Review amendments to the Police Commission's Rules and Regulations. A public hearing <br />preceded this meeting. The commission could approve the amended rules at this time: <br />Commissioner Paiva motioned to approve the amendments reviewed and agreed upon at <br />the public hearing. Commissioner Carlson seconded, and it carried unanimously. <br />
