If applicable, list the Section number(s) of the charter provision(s) to be deleted or amended: <br />Delete Sections 10-15 and 10-16 of the Hawaii County Charter ("HCC") and replace it with <br />new terms. <br />3. Provide a brief description of the purpose of the proposed charter amendment; include <br />a description of the issue the proposal would address: <br />The purpose of the proposed charter amendment is to delete Sections 10-15 and 10-16 of <br />the HCC and replace it with terms that are consistent with the intent and purpose of the <br />Public Access, Open Space, and Natural Resources Preservation and Maintenance Funds <br />(hereinafter referred to as the "Public Access Preservation Fund" and the "Public Access <br />Maintenance Fund." <br />4. If the proposal is based on a provision(s) in the charter or law of another jurisdiction, <br />name the jurisdiction and, if possible, attach a copy of the relevant provision(s). <br />The replacement terms for 10-15 and 10-16 is generally taken from Section 9-19 of the <br />Maui County Charter. See attached Exhibit "A," <br />5.
