From: Diane Ware <volcanogetaway@yahoo.com>
Sent: Wednesday, November 7, 2018 9:06 PM
To: Charter Commission; Council Testimony; Kim, Harry
Subject: 2% for Land fund
Aloha Charter Commissioners, Council Members and Mayor,
THE PEOPLE HAVE SPOKEN SEVERAL TIMES! By Ballot no less. Please respect our wishes, do not waste time, taxpayer $$
trying to thwart our wishes. We do want maintenance and staff. Focus on that aspect and implementation. Keep 2% in
tact.
This past week I had friends visiting from the mainland. I took them to Kawa, Honuapo, and I took a Sierra Club Group to
O'oma this year and it is a great addition to public access parks. I testified in 2010 to not develop that parcel and so
rewarding to now see a beautiful coastal park.
Please advocate more areas purchased with funds available. Pohue Bay is so important to preserve for cultural/natural
resources. Access by hiking traditional trail is now being blocked by owners.
Mahalo nui, V C We the People want to save these special places.
Diane Ware
MI
1
Comm. No. 3.1.17
