Kim: We will have a small coffee and wine tasting room. We manufacture (wine) using the
Kona coffee cherries.
Taniguchi: Director, any record of protests?
Takase: Mr. Chairman, the applicant mailed 13 out of 13 notices within 100 feet, and 46 out
of 46 notices within 500 feet. There were 27 properties entitled to protest. There were no
protests to this application.
Taniguchi: Is there any public testimony on this application?
There was no public testimony.
Taniguchi: Since none, Commissioners, any questions?
Nahale-a: I have a question. I remember last time we were questioning something about this
applicant. I think it was in regards to the restroom? How far from the restaurant it was going
to be? I was wondering if that's been followed up on or rectified. Is it even in our purview?
Takase: 1 am not sure actually, what the Department of Health is doing; if they're looking at it
at all. But, Mr. Kim indicated that the restrooms that they created behind are compliant.
Kim: Yes, facing Kuakini Highway. The County approved the location, considering the ADA
code. From our business space to access the restroom, I didn't think we had any issues with
that, but I'm sure the health department or County inspectors will let us know once we get the
final say on it.
Nahale-a: Okay.
Taniguchi: Any other questions?
There were no other questions from the Commissioners.
Nahale-a: Move to close public hearing.
Salave`a: Second.
Ms. Nahale-a moved to close the public hearing; seconded by Mr.
Salave`a.
Taniguchi: Any other discussion?
There was no other discussion from the Commissioners.
Taniguchi: Since none, all those in favor to close public hearing signify by saying, "Aye."
The Commissioners voted "aye."
OCTOBER 4, 2018 - LIQUOR COMMISSION MINUTES
14
