Minutes <br /> Regular Meeting of the Pension Board <br /> February 23, 2015 <br /> County Building, First Floor—Council Room, Hilo, Hawai`i <br /> CALL TO ORDER: The quarterly meeting of the Pension Board was called to order at 1:30 p.m. by <br /> Chair Guillerma"Irma" G. Sumera. <br /> ROLL CALL: <br /> Present: Guillerma"Irma" G. Sumera, Chair <br /> Arlene Waugh, Vice-Chair <br /> Jerry Hamamoto, Member <br /> David Heaukulani, Member <br /> Stewart Maeda, Ex-Officio Member <br /> Absent& Excused: Florence Ikeda, Member <br /> Kay Oshiro, Controller, Finance Department <br /> Also Present: Dee Torres, Secretary, Office of the County Clerk-Council <br /> Deanna Sako, Director, Finance Department <br /> Craig Masuda, Deputy Corporation Counsel <br /> Janice Watkins, Payroll Processing Supervisor, Finance Department <br /> STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON AGENDA ITEMS: (There were none). <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES: November 24, 2014 <br /> Mr. Hamamoto moved to approve the minutes of November 24, 2014. Seconded by Ms. Waugh. <br /> The motion was carried by the following vote: <br /> AYES: Board Members Hamamoto, Heaukulani, Waugh, and Chair Sumera—4. <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> 1. Chair Sumera proceeded with the application for pension from the County of Hawai`i for <br /> Mr. Francis F. Takahashi, Jr. (retired County of Hawai`i P&R Band Member). <br /> At this time, Chair Sumera asked Ms. Watkins to present her report. <br /> Ms. Watkins confirmed that Mr. Takahashi is not a member of the Employees' Retirement <br /> System (ERS) and is not eligible for any pension benefits from ERS. Further, finding of facts <br /> are as follows: An application for pension was submitted from Mr. Takahashi on January 23, <br /> 2015, who has more than ten years of service. <br />
