Minutes <br /> Regular Meeting of the Pension Board <br /> November 27, 2017 <br /> County Building, First Floor—Council Room, Hilo, Hawai`i <br /> CALL TO ORDER: The quarterly meeting of the Pension Board was called to order at 1:30 p.m. by <br /> Chair Nyala Neill. <br /> ROLL CALL: <br /> Present: Nyala Neill, Chair <br /> Emma Sousa, Vice-Chair <br /> Jerry Hamamoto, Member <br /> Mae Ikeda, Member <br /> Stewart Maeda, County Clerk <br /> Also Present: Deanna Sako, Director, Finance Department <br /> Craig Masuda, Deputy Corporation Counsel <br /> Kay Oshiro, Controller, Finance Department <br /> Linda Young, Payroll Processing Supervisor, Finance Department <br /> Dee Torres, Secretary, Office of the County Clerk-Council <br /> (There were <br /> STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON AGENDA ITEMS: none.) <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES: November 28, 2016 <br /> Ms. Sousa moved to approve the minutes of November 28, 2016. Seconded by Mr. Hamamoto. <br /> The motion was carried by the following vote: <br /> AYES: Board Members Hamamoto, Ikeda, Sousa, and Chair Neill—4. <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> 1. Chair Neill proceeded with the Election of Officers and asked for nominations for Chair and <br /> Vice-Chair for the new term (December 2017 to November 2018). <br /> Mr. Hamamoto asked regarding the expiration dates of the Pension Board members. <br /> Ms. Sako replied stating the following: Ms. Neill and Ms. Sousa's expiration dates are <br /> December 31, 2019; Mr. Hamamoto and Ms. Ikeda are on December 31, 2021. <br /> Mr. Masuda asked for the nominations. <br /> Mr. Hamamoto made a motion to nominate Ms. Neill as Chair of the Pension Board to continue <br /> as Chair for the new term. Seconded by Ms. Sousa. <br /> Mr. Masuda asked for nominations for Vice-Chair, also giving the board members an option to <br /> nominate office-by-office. <br />
