Report on the status of the "Welcome to North Kohala" brochure: Committee Member Ah Sam, who has been spearheading the project, reported that it is still a work in progress but that she has been developing the information to go into the brochure. She stated that she is focusing on providing tips on living in Kohala, and not just building in Kohala. More updates on the brochure to come in January 2019. 4. Review and discussion of the priority setting exercise and role of the community group liaisons: The Action Committee reviewed the results of the priority setting exercise. They discussed the need for more participation in the community groups since these groups have been the most successful avenue to accomplish actions and priorities for the Action Committee. Committee Member Ah Sam encouraged the Action Committee to more actively assist Jack Hoyt in working on the Affordable Housing Group, as affordable housing has been identified as a top priority for North Kohala. The Action Committee also discussed the need to expand potable water in North Kohala as another top priority to focus on. Chair Hoffmann stated that he would further discuss the role of the community group liaisons with each of them offline. 5. Comm. No. 2018-26 NK CDP AC 2019 Meeting Schedule: The Action Committee reviewed the proposed 2019 meeting schedule. There were not any objections or conflicts with the proposed schedule. Committee Member Ah Sam made a motion to adopt the 2019 Action Committee Meeting Schedule. Second by Committee Member Ney. The motion to adopt the 2019 meeting schedule passed with 6 votes aye, 0 votes nay. 6. Draft Environmental Assessment for Naval Special Operations Training in the State of Hawai'i: Community Member, John Winter, encouraged the Action Committee (representing themselves and not the Action Committee) as well as the public, to submit comments to the Department of Land and Natural Resources regarding the draft environmental assessment for Naval Special Operations Training in the State of Hawai'i.
