b. Presentation of the County of Hawaii Mass b. Brenda Carreira started on <br />Transit Agency Share Ride and Para -Transit Nov ls`. Hele On provides their <br />(Kona District) — Brenda Carreira, County of own drivers but Para -Transit <br />Hawaii Mass Transit Administrator contracts out the vehicles. <br />Limited to four (4) vehicles at <br />this time. There is an application <br />process including an in person <br />assessment. Applicants are <br />eligible three ways: <br />1. Unable to get to a bus stop <br />2. Unable to board the bus <br />3. Unable to recognize routes. <br />There is a twenty for (24) hour <br />advance notice for assistance. <br />This program relies on HCEOC <br />vans that Mass Transit contracts <br />out. Reservation line available <br />hours is 7:45am-4:30pm for <br />service. A $4.00 per way fee is <br />collected and the caretaker rides <br />free. Routes are limited to one <br />(1) mile perimeter of routes. <br />Puna district routes are not <br />available in an emergency. Only <br />fixed routes are available for <br />now. In time of an emergency <br />Mass Transit reports to Civil <br />Defense. Revisit is six (6) <br />months. <br />c. Joint Presentation on Emergency <br />c. Training is available for the <br />Preparedness for Persons with Disabilities- <br />community to take. A trained <br />Talmadge Magno, County of Hawaii Civil <br />team is available to rescue/help <br />Defense Administrator. <br />people with disabilities in case of <br />an emergency. There are 26 <br />emergency response teams <br />available. Classes are available <br />around the island. Volunteers <br />interested in attending training <br />need to attend three (3) weekend <br />sessions. Hawaii Fire <br />Department does the training. <br />There is currently fifteen (15) <br />trainers ready.
