This would be short sighted and take away from an important, long-term program to
preserve open space in Hawaii County. It was hard fought to obtain this fund, and the program has not even sufficiently
up and running yet. This funds acquired there were put there in good faith to preserve open space, and not be taken for
other purposes. Please do what is right and maintain the 2% PONC funding.
Thank you.
This is a personal testimony, and has no bearing or representation of my employer, the University of Hawaii.
Noa Kekuewa Lincoln, PhD
Assistant Professor, UH Manoa, CTAHR
nlincoln@hawaii.edu
—We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children"
1
Comm.
