Is that a good enough reason to raid and destroy it and our county's effort to maintain
a livable island for residents and a the golden nest egg that many depend upon to feed their families and their souls?
There are no good enough reasons to undermine the public's trust — a public who voted loudly and clearly in support of
this fund, this funding amount, and the maintenance fund that goes with it. It's a successful program and, as it gains
traction in residents' minds and daily life, it will be even more beloved and coveted for what it has done and will
continue to do for our county as long as it is allowed to continue "as is".
Please say "no" to CA -13. There is no emergency great enough to cause us to lose hard-won land use battles and
acquisitions.
Please say "no" to CA -7 which strips the funding and breaks the biggest promise of the fund which is that these lands
will be protected IN PERPETUITY.
Please say "yes" to CA -9 that creates a staff position. This change makes great sense on many levels and will help insure
that the fund is used in the best, most efficient way in the future.
Come on, folks. This is a sinister money grab despite (possibly) good intentions. It's your job to protect the law, the
charter, and the people of this county. Please use your wisdom and integrity to help this fund live up to its 2% name.
Mahalo and sincerely,
Janice Palma-Glennie
P.Q. box+8+9
Kaiua-Kona, tjawai'i 967+5
Cc: Count Coundl
1
Comm.
