This is something the public has voted for numerous times in the past. This
land fund and the places it has helped to protect are one of our most valuable resources, for protection of the
environment, native species, to keep something for the next generations to enjoy and cherish.
CA -7 and CA -13 both weaken and change the intention of this land fund. The public trusts you to do the right thing and
uphold this amendment as the people voted for it. Please do not alter it and violate that trust. If you will be making any
changes to this amendment then I think we all deserve adequate notice and there should be public testimony allowed,
to have this meeting without allowing public testimony on an amendment that the public has supported in the past
seems pretty odd and unfair to me.
CA -9 seems like a needed update to have someone help manage this fund and help use the monies in a more efficient
and productive way. I am in support of this amendment as a I believe it will help us use these funds to the best of our
abilities and not require any more money from other sources to pay for management of this fund.
Mahalo nui loa for you consideration,
Shannon Matson
Hawaii County Democratic Party Eastside Vice Chair (using this title for identifying purposes, I am writing on behalf of
myself, my family, my business- Hot Yoga Hilo, NOT on behalf of all Hawaii County Democrats)
Sent from my iPhone
1 Comm.
