Page 2 of 2 <br />7) At the discretion of the Chair, any testimony not relevant to proposed charter <br />amendments or concerning the Charter may not be heard. <br />8) Members of the public will be allowed to speak once at a public hearing. Speaking <br />for another individual will not be allowed. <br />9) The Chair shall maintain order and decorum during the hearing, reasonably <br />administering the receipt of oral and written testimony. Members of the public shall <br />extend proper courtesy and respect to one another and to all Commissioners and <br />Commission staff. All persons shall be addressed by their surnames and no <br />profanity or abusive remarks will be allowed at any time. Any person who is <br />disrespectful to Commissioners, staff, or other members of the public through <br />disorderly or contemptuous behavior, or who disrupts the holding of the hearing, <br />may be removed from the hearing at the discretion of the Chair. <br />10) Failure to abide by these protocols may result in testimony being shortened or the <br />abusive party being asked to leave the hearing. <br />11) These protocols shall be available to members of the public at the registration table <br />on the day of the hearing. <br />I will be placing this communication on the February 8, 2019, meeting agenda for public <br />notice and review of the Commission. <br />DSA/jdh <br />
