And, so, oh yeah, you know, people think, yeah, well, we know that, we know that, but do you <br />really? How long can a person survive without water? You can survive a few days without <br />food. How long can we survive without water? <br />Now, I want to shift the importance of, I heard everybody's testimony and, yes, our planet is in <br />dire straits. But, I brought my mo`o, one of my mo`o today, my granddaughter, because I <br />wanted her to see what government is like. She's, she's only nine years old, and the role that <br />government plays in making decisions that will affect her in her lifetime, if we're lucky enough <br />to survive that long. <br />There are many reasons for not approving this permit by Piilani Partners. So many. You know, <br />there's the plastic issue, of course. We're already inundated by plastic. Trying to make small <br />steps towards becoming more sustainable myself. It's not easy by any means, but, you know, <br />every small step in the right direction is a good step. <br />So, I want you to think as you're deliberating. Please think about your keiki, your mo`opuna, <br />your grandchildren, and what we are leaving for them. Are we making this world a better place <br />for them? Really? That's what's important, because most of us in this room have already lived <br />most of our lives, but our children and their children, and the children to come are just beginning <br />theirs.
