This is a Civil Defense message for Saturday, February 9 at 1230 in the afternoon.
The National Weather Service reports dangerous conditions of high wind and surf
are expected throughout Hawaii Island for several days.
Civil Defense is monitoring conditions island-wide along with National Weather
Service updates, and will provide information as it becomes available.
There are no closures at this time.
Due to the unpredictable nature and extreme danger from the wind and surf of the
storm the following are in effect:
Secure all loose objects that may be affected by wind such as canopy tarps
and yard furniture that maybe damaged or create a danger to others.
Boat and aircraft owners must secure or remove all vessels.
Stay alert for dangerous ocean and wind conditions.
All preparations should be completed before nightfall.
Again, conditions will be monitored island-wide and you will be kept informed of
changes that may affect your safety.
Please listen to the radio for Civil Defense updates.
