<br />because of the 1972 Clean W ater Act. She said they are moving forward with a team of people from <br />the Resilient Hawaiian Communities Initiative . T hey hope to look at options for using the pipe , <br />understanding that it connects to surface water which would only allow it to be used for a ctivities such <br />as agricultural irrigation and ranching. <br />Planner Plunkett reflected on how much progress can be made by a community group outside of <br />asking for government assistance. He encouraged other AC members to explore this idea with their <br />communit ies . <br />Committee Member Alos shared what she has learned so far as part of the subcommittee working on <br />Waikoloa Intersection improvements. She explained they have been looking into 3 major <br />developments in the Waikoloa area that were required to improve the inte rsection as a condition of <br />County rezoning ordinances . The State Land Use Commission is posturing to retract their State Land <br />Use Boundary amendment due to noncompliance with their conditional approval requirements , they <br />th <br />have a hearing scheduled for Octobe r 24 in Kona. <br />Committee Member Sanborn requested an update for a subdivision application for a P arker R anch <br />property located in the Waimea town center . He said there was a draft environmental assessment <br />submitted by the applicants about a year ago and th at it has been a while since they have announced <br />any plans. He had noticed surveys circulating around Waimea that have to do with the application. His <br />interests in the project include understanding its impact on circulation and the Luala‘ i subdivision, <br />a lo ng with the potential for more commercial activity in Waimea. <br />Committee Member Smith had a couple of notes to update the Waikoloa section of C ommunication <br />N umber 2018 - 10: Implementation Table.
