Hawaii Game Management Advisory Commission Meeting <br />Minutes – January 29, 2019 <br /> <br />BKK: She didn’t bring up HB 25. <br /> <br />NP: You got to understand, before I went to talk to these people our bills did not <br />have numbers and so the whole – we had subject matters – we weren’t <br />assigned a number yet and so these numbers are confusing coming at us <br />right now – how they decided to dissect it – put it together – is something <br />we’re still figuring out. But basically the bills are about giving the State GMAC <br />more power both in the spending of money and in the say of what’s done on <br />public hunting land and there’s also one on the constitution – to put the <br />animals back in the constitution so I’m not sure if that one flew... <br /> <br />BKK: Is there anything that the Commissioners or the Commission itself can do to – <br />would we want to send a letter in support? <br /> <br />NP: Yeah, contacting legislators – you can contact them via email or call and give <br />your support. <br /> <br />TN: Are there any bills here like the Hawaii Apprentice License Program we’ve <br />been working on? <br /> <br />NP: Right, that one also – I found out later – got resurrected – that we didn’t even <br />bring up the subject of it and some legislator resurrected that one. <br /> <br />TN: So it’s Senate Bill 927? <br /> <br />NP: The Apprentice License... <br /> <br />TN: So is there any of these bills that is listed on this spreadsheet that we’d like to <br />support as GMAC? <br /> <br />BKK: Well, I think that bills that Nani had stated – more recent, she’s been working <br />on in the Legislative Committee – we should be able to support – also the – if <br />there is a motion to support any of the other bills that’s listed we can probably <br />entertain those as well... <br /> <br />TN: Do you feel that the members need more time to look over the bills before <br />they decide whether they want GMAC to support this. <br /> <br />NP: I assume GMAC already voted – well we did already vote on these bills <br />before we voted on ‘em and everybody was in support. <br /> <br />TN: Oh, so do we need a letter from GMAC? <br /> <br />BKK: So the ones that Nani has listed already, we already have supported them. <br /> <br />29 <br /> <br /> <br />
