I am a student of Volcano
School of Arts and Sciences and I am happy that we get to go to Kawa. I've
been going to Kawa for over two years now and I like helping Uncle Duane,
Kumu James Akau, Uncle Kaui Felder, Aunty Clarissa Pua. Me and my
class Malama the Aina at Kawa and we water plants, move rocks, planting
plants, and more. Last year, Kawa got destroyed by high surf so my and
my class went to Kawa and fixed it up.
Kawa is really beautiful and it has a lot of native plants and animals. I really
love going to Kawa and helping Na Mamo 0 Kawa restore the place to
what it used to be back then. I went to Kawa when I was a little kid and
used to go fishing. Kawa was one of the first beaches that I always go to
when I want to bodyboard. The people on the mainland and the people
from the Hawaiian island can have a good time at Kawa.
Comm. No. 21.149
