Takase: I also wanted to announce that we do have three new nominees for the <br />Commission; Paula Thomas, replacing Art, and Ron lbarra, replacing Steve Lopez. Art <br />has been nominated to the Adjudication Board. They are meeting the Committee on the <br />eighth and full Council later in the month. We don't expect them to be on board until the <br />March meetings. <br />Nahale-a: Thank you. Any other announcements? <br />Lopez: I just wanted to say, remember last month we approved licensing for that <br />restaurant in Waikoloa operated by James Babian and he had his Chinese cook? I heard <br />they had a smashing success when they opened. <br />Takase: Down in Mauna Lani? <br />Lopez: Yes. And there was some confusion about Umeke's and I went back to where the <br />new location is supposed to be and there's a huge sign that says they're coming in. Do <br />we know when? <br />Takase: Umeke's at the Kona Brew? <br />Lopez: Yes, they're going to move over. <br />Takase: They haven't come to us with anything yet. <br />Lopez: The building is up and it's ready. <br />Taniguchi: It's there, it's finished. <br />Takase: They have a lot going on, too. They're trying to open a Hilo location and <br />apparently they now have a food truck which I did see at the Target or Safeway parking <br />lot. <br />Lopez: Hilo side? <br />Takase: Yes. He hasn't come to us with anything yet for this Kona location. <br />Taniguchi: The sign is up. The sign was there for a while. Shiono's is right next door. <br />Takase: They might run into the same parking problem. There's two other big <br />businesses. <br />X. Adjournment <br />Nahale-a: (10:31 A.M.)
