<br />Roadway Resurfacing Work for Hualālai St. <br />Rescheduled for 04/29 - 05/2 <br />Traffic signal repair work at the intersection of Hualālai and Kino‘ole Streets rescheduled for Sunday, <br />April 28. <br /> <br />HILO, HI: Resurfacing work on Hualālai St. in Hilo between Kapi‘olani St. and Kīlauea Ave. that was <br />scheduled to take place Monday, April 15, 2019 through Thursday, April 18, 2019 has been rescheduled <br />due to inclement weather. The County of Hawai‘i Department of Public Works Highway Maintenance <br />Division plans to conduct the work Monday, April 29, 2019, to Thursday, May 2, 2019. Work is <br />scheduled between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., weather and construction conditions <br />permitting. <br /> <br />th th <br />Work is planned to be done on the Hualālai St. roadway in 2 phases. On April 29- 30, from Kapi‘olani <br />stnd <br />St. to Kino‘ole St. and May 1 – May 2 from Kino‘ole St. to Kīlauea Ave. There will be no parking along <br />the roadway during the work period. Alternating lane closures will be in effect and work will be done on <br />one lane at a time. Travel in both directions will be provided with traffic control personnel posted in the <br />area to facilitate traffic movement. <br /> <br />Traffic Signal Repair Work Rescheduled for April 28 <br />In addition, repair work to the traffic signal wiring at the intersection of Hualālai and Kino‘ole Streets <br />that was scheduled for Sunday, April 14, was cancelled due to inclement weather and has been <br />rescheduled for April 28, weather and conditions permitting. Department of Public Works Traffic <br />Division will conduct work starting at 8 a.m. and be completed by 6:30 p.m. at the latest. The <br />intersection will be flashing red all directions and the public must treat it as a four way stop. <br /> <br />During the scheduled repair work motorists are advised to drive with caution and are encouraged to use <br />alternate routes to avoid the area during the scheduled work times. <br /> <br />The County of Hawai‘i Department of Public Works apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause and <br />thanks the community for their patience and understanding. <br /> <br />If there are any questions or concerns regarding the road resurfacing work, please call the Highway <br />Maintenance Division at 961-8349.
