<br />ADA Pedestrian Push Buttons Installation at Kuakini Highway and <br />Hualālai Road Intersection April 25 <br /> <br />Kailua-Kona, HI: The Hawai‘i County Department of Public Works, Traffic Division is scheduled to install <br />ADA pedestrian push buttons on traffic signal poles at the intersection of Kuakini Highway and Hualālai <br />Road in Kailua-Kona on Thursday, April 25, 2019, from 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m, weather conditions <br />permitting. <br /> <br />The new push buttons will ping a sound or can be programmed to talk and pedestrian countdown <br />modules will emit the “HAND” and “MAN” signals. <br /> <br />There will be intermittent lane closures and travel in all directions through the work area will be <br />provided. Road work signs will be posted in the work zone and special duty police officers will facilitate <br />traffic movement and assist pedestrians crossing in the crosswalk. Motorists are advised to expect <br />delays and encouraged to use alternate routes. <br /> <br />The County of Hawai‘i Department of Public Works apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause and <br />thanks the community for their patience and understanding. <br /> <br />If there are any questions or concerns, please call the Traffic Division at 961-8341. <br /> <br />
