HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOM 0969.005 2018-2020 From: Sugandha Pomaski Sent: Tuesday, July 07, 2020 11:36 AM COUNTY CLERK To: Council Testimony COUNTY OF HAWAIII Subject: Resolution 665/666-20 RECEIVED Time It> OLPI BY Aloha Dates 2 I am sending this message to share my feelings as a business owner in Hilo. My husband and I own and operate a small restaurant in downtown Hilo. We shut our doors mid March through mid April, while we figured out how to change our business model and menu from a dine-in establishment, to a take away format. Since April when we reopened, it's been a struggle to make the profits needed to operate the restaurant and keep our doors open. Receiving the PPP has helped take a little of the pressure off, but my worry and concern is that this COVID situation is going to be ongoing for the foreseeable future, and without further financial help, especially in the form of a grant, I`m frightened that many of us won't make it through. I hope that you consider my thoughts and that help goes out to the businesses this town that so desperately need assistance. Sincerely, Soni Pomaski Owner-Operator MOON &t TURTLE 51 Kalakaua St. (808) 961-0599 Follow us on social media! Comm. o. Ref. To: 'P (AU. Ref. Date 1 Q A 2029 i
