Subject: Regarding COVID relief grants for business ' ll°'

I am in favor of more than $5million to be made available for business on Hawaii Island. While our Pandemic crisis is
at a minimum; the economic repercussions continue and also get more accentuated. The PPP has helped, but the
relief period is ending and more is needed to keep our Island business afloat. Our restaurants continue to run at 50%
or less capacity. That means less employment opportunities and marginal, if any, profitability for the owners.
In addition to considering greater than $5million for direct small business grants, please consider lifting the sales
threshold cap to $3million (from the proposed $1million). Many restaurants have sales greater that $1 million with
OK but not excessive compensation to the owners.
Thank you for supporting the small business of our Island.
