My name is Aphinya M. Fontaine. I am the owner of Aphinya Traditional Thai Massage and Spa in Hilo,
Hawaii. COVID-19 has definitely affected my business. Many of my regular clients have not returned. I am not
accepting walk-in clients. There is a lack of new clients and even inquiries. This has reduced revenue. I have spent
much on protective gear, masks, and sanitizers. I have to keep current on rents and other expenses. I am considering
closing as the lack of income and increased expenses cannot be sustained much longer. It is clear that many other
small businesses are in similar circumstances. If there are any grant monies to be made available to keep me and
others like me viable during this difficulty, now would be the time. Thank you for the opportunity to put my
thoughts on the record.
